This 48-year-old mother of one underwent breast augmentation several years ago, which resulted in some asymmetry with the right breast was smaller than the left. Her bra size was 34C. She wanted to stay the same size, but have better symmetry with secondary breast enhancement in St. Louis at my office. Her most recent mammogram was normal. Examination showed some mild breast ptosis (sagging). When she was lying flat, you could do see some wrinkling and folds in the saline implants, which had been placed on top of the muscle. The implants also were somewhat firm. We removed the saline implants and replaced them with textured silicone gel implants placed above the muscle. A lift procedure was performed on both breasts, leaving the scar around the areola. A 325 cc implant was placed on the right side, and a 300 cc implant was placed on the left side. The surgery was performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient. Her recovery was smooth. Because of her previous breast augmentation, she had a quicker recovery. The scars around the areola healed beautifully. She is a full C to D cup. She has excellent shape and symmetry, and the breasts have remained soft for three years after her cosmetic surgery in St. Louis. Her photographs show her result at six weeks, seven months, one year, and three years.
