Get the Shape You Want – In Time for New Year’s

Body Contouring Stock ImageHoliday parties are just around the corner, and a little touch-up to your shape might be just what you need to step out with confidence. For many women and men, diet and exercise are not enough to smooth out those frustrating lumps that appear on the thighs, abdomen, and even the neck, but Dr. Jones can smooth and sculpt your shape using any of his full range of St. Louis liposuction procedures .

If your stubborn fatty areas make you self-conscious about the way you look, Dr. Jones can help. Liposuction is the only way to correct diet-resistant fatty deposits for a full range of body types and shapes, and Dr. Jones uses some of today’s most advanced approaches to ensure smoother, faster and more precise procedures with great results. Options include:

  • Tumescent liposuction
  • Power-assisted liposuction (PAL)
  • Ultrasonic-assisted liposuction (UAL)

In your consultation, Dr. Jones will explain the benefits of the different options and help you choose an approach that matches your needs. He can even tailor your procedure to treat difficult and hard-to-reach areas like the neck, pectoral area, arms, and inner thighs.

Technologically advanced options like PAL and UAL also help prevent bruising and ensure a swift recovery. For maximum results, many patients will choose a combination of liposuction and tummy tuck in St. Louis.

Dr. Jones has years of experience helping patients like you achieve a more shapely look and enhanced self-confidence. If you schedule your consultation soon, his minimal-downtime procedures could have you looking great to start off 2009 in style.

Chemical Peels for All Skin Types

Chemical Peels Stock ImageWith your busy holiday schedule, you may want to refresh your look without the time commitment of surgery. Winter is a great time to take advantage of Dr. Jones’ full selection of chemical peels to smooth and restore skin and help you get the vibrant, healthy look you want. Dr. Jones offers a variety of chemical peels so that you can choose an approach that is appropriate for your skin type.

Mildly Damaged Skin

Light wrinkles, clogged pores, and slightly rougher skin texture often can be corrected using a milder chemical peel. Dr. Jones offers an array of salicylic, lactic, glycolic, and jessner peels, which remove dead skin cells and stimulate skin rejuvenation.

Aged or Wrinkled Skin

Rough, wrinkled skin can result from age, sun damage, or smoking, but the result is the same – a worn, strained look that leaves you feeling as tired as you look.

Dr. Jones uses the PCA® Professional range of peels, which offer a specially blended formula to correct signs of aging and restore healthier skin. PCA peels include:

  • Ultra Peel® I and II Exfoliating Treatment
  • PCA Peel with Hydroquinone and Resorcinol Treatment
  • Sensi Peel® Exfoliating Treatment
  • PCA Peel HQ-Free Exfoliating Treatment

Discolored or Sun-Damaged Skin

For deeper rough skin texture many patients may choose an intermediate grade peel such as the trichloroacetic acid (TCA). Dr. Jones offers the TCA peel, which will improve your skin health while minimizing the look of melasma, sun-damage-related “age spots,” and other pigmentation problems. For many St. Louis skin care patients, an intermediate TCA peel is appropriate.

Acne-Scarred Skin

For certain skin types, Dr. Jones may recommend an Obagi® Skin Care regimen, or acne laser treatments at his St. Louis, Missouri office.

For teens and adults, intense pulse light treatments with Levulan® is the newest, non-surgical, medically based skin rejuvenation procedure. Reported to be the most exciting advancement in skin rejuvenation since BOTOX® Cosmetic, this office based treatment combines light therapy using Intense Pulse Light (IPL) with a topical prescribed cream. This treatment has had a dramatic effect on treating severe acne, stubborn acne vulgaris, and acne rosacea while serving as a new alternative to Accutane.

Severe Wrinkles

If you have severe wrinkles or oily skin, a phenol-croton oil peel offers significant results even in the long term. This deep peel produces dramatic results and can frequently postpone cosmetic surgery.

St. Louis Laser Hair Removal Attracts Cold-Weather Customers

Skin-savvy Missouri women are taking advantage of one of the hottest new treatments in “pain-free” laser hair removal. Board-certified St. Louis plastic surgeon Dr. Timothy Jones finds that more women are planning their laser hair removal treatments for the winter in order to be bikini-ready in time for spring.

St. Louis, Missouri (December 2008) – Winter isn’t the typical time for most people to be thinking about hitting the beaches, but a number of Missouri women are thinking ahead for the spring and undergoing St. Louis laser hair removal treatments anyway. Dr. Timothy Jones, a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Genesis Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center® (http://www.genesiscosmeticsurgery.net), says that winter is a popular time for patients to start a laser hair removal treatment plan and complete it in time for spring.

“Many women actually prefer to undergo laser hair removal treatments in the winter,” Dr. Jones explains, “because a typical treatment plan requires 4 to 6 treatments spaced at intervals of a few weeks. With this time frame, you need to get a good head start in order to achieve maximum results by the time the weather starts to warm up and you pull the shorts and skirts out of your closet.”

In St. Louis, “laser hair removal” can refer to both laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments, as well as conventional electrolysis. Each of these treatments offers different levels of comfort and efficacy depending on factors like the treatment approach, type of machine, and the quality of the patient’s skin.

“At my St. Louis cosmetic surgery center we use the Alma Soprano® MX system, which combines a high-powered laser with a sophisticated cooling system to prevent skin damage and significantly minimize procedure discomfort. Most patients compare the experience to a warm massage. While some patients will see some swelling and redness immediately after the procedure, overall the experience tends to be very pleasant.”

This particular device is structured to prevent the patient’s skin from being overexposed to the laser’s warmth, and the cooling system helps ensure that the aftereffects dissipate within a few hours. Less advanced laser procedures, by comparison, can create discomfort that will last for days or even burn the skin if not used carefully.

“With the Soprano,” Dr. Jones explains, “the superior technology allows me to successfully treat a full spectrum of skin types. People with darker skin tones – who previously may not have been ideal candidates for treatment – can enjoy significant results with this procedure at my St. Louis office.”

In the winter months, Genesis Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center also treats a number of women and men who are disappointed with the skin and laser treatments they had at other practices over the summer. “After a person has had a bad experience elsewhere, Dr. Jones says, “they tend to research their options carefully and opt for a more trustworthy procedure.”

Dr. Timothy Jones offers a full selection of laser and light-based therapies ranging from laser skin rejuvenation and acne treatments to laser hair removal for St. Louis patients. Call his office at (314) 432-1772 or contact him online to find out more about his credentials and treatment options.
